((OoC sorry this took so long. Waiting and then life, you know how it goes. Hopefully things here life wise have calmed a bit. I also feel like this is clunky because I’m not used to Lex running around which is strange.))
I look over at Patch, ” You and I both know the state of The city.” I just shrug, Patch always needs an extra push to get things going. So I’ll be that push, if only to make myself feel slightly less like I’ve totally sunk The City with my skimming off the top.
The silence makes the walk seem slower. And I’m relived when I finally see Ryan standing by with a wagon ready to go. “You’re late.” He says.
”Don’t remind me.” I quip back. I turn to Patch, ”Why don’t you give this lot a look over, while I settle up with Ryan?” I wink to make certain I’m still okay with him taking stuff for the clinic. After all, I’m pocketing off the top.
I follow Ryan into the house and he passes me a small package of goods, ”How much more do you need?” he asks as I load the bag into my rucksack.
”I took a huge hit not selling all of Zandra’s Junk.” I confess. ”And who knows what Jango will give me for this seeming as I’ll be late meeting up with him. Maybe another week or two?”
I stand and hoist the bag onto my shoulders, ”You and Luna don’t need to buy a place Lex. I got plenty of space. And you don’t need to steal from the Mallrats to do it.”
”I ain’t stealing Ryan. I’m just collecting on the back pay I’m owed from being their lap dog for so long. We’ve talked about this, it’s time I strike it out on my own. Listen, I gotta get back before I’m missed.” I nod my thanks and walk back out to Patch. ”Ready to get moving?”
