Hey everyone I hope you are all well

I just want to go through a few things just to clarify stuff!

First of all this roleplay is for fun. I hope everyone is enjoying it. Just make sure it stays that way. If anyone has any issues just message me.

Make sure we keep in mind who our characters are. We control our character and unless you want ask permission we don’t not control anyone else’s. Make sure you ask someone if you are saying something about their character (like an action). Your character can make an action to another character; ie: slapping, or hugging. That’s fine because that is your character doing that.

Also keep in mind all plot lines don’t have to be discussed with everyone. It keeps the surprise and mystery because we don’t know what’s happening in real like before it happens. I feel like it’s more realistic. If you want to have a specific plot with someone else’s character of course message them but if it concerns no one else’s character, other people don’t need to know. You can let them know but you don’t need to let other people know.

I’m going to take a break from the website for about a week.

I’m not happy with what’s been going on.

Let me say it one more time and I’m sorry if I’m being pushy about it. This is a roleplay. They are for fun. This roleplay has been running for a while and it’s always been slow but it’s been there and I was so happy people were enjoying it. I just don’t understand why characters, people we make up, why their actions could cause an issue because it is made up.

Before I go I will write up my idea I had and I’m more than open for suggestions.

Idea :

I got an idea with Claire disappearing because from what I’ve already said about how people in the city have already gone a bit manic there could be people from the city coming and taking people. I’m not quite sure why it could do with just having slaves or to run power stations or something…that’s why I wanted to put the idea towards everyone

It’s not a very sound idea. I want to find a way to have people in the city interact because I want to bring Sabrina’s cousin in. And the city isn’t that far and they would likely have a bit of fuel still there. I know I’ve had a conversation with a few people recently about bringing in people from the city.

Also if it’s not a good idea it’s all good! I’ve got other ideas for Monty.

Also if anyone has anything else just say it! I want ideas!!!

Firstly, Happy New Year! I hope you all have an amazing and blessed 2020!

That being said, we can all make it a wonderful year for Eagle’s roleplay if we can leave out of character discriminations, issues, etc. out of in character posts and plots and vice versa, meaning we leave in character discriminations out of interactions amongst ourselves in the real world. That is a sitewide rule, by the way. So practice it everywhere. That means no snide thoughts towards characters just because you were brushed off or they haven’t gotten a chance to play with you yet. Even if you don’t like a character personally it’s rude for your character to think/say ill of them if they have no real reason to dislike them yet.

I get being annoyed by things, but as Eagle stated, it’s (this rp) just for fun. The reward is we all get to work together to make a fictional universe into what we want. I know it’s slow and we don’t have a lot of players, but we should still be mindful of our community. A Tribe is a family, we won’t always agree, but life is better when we can coincide in peace.

If an idea or plot has not been completely planned out/is not concrete, there is beauty in that. You get authentic reactions and development for characters and plots from that. However if two characters have a set-in-stone plot going on, and your character comes in without a planned plot that effects them THEN it is a necessary courtesy to talk to ALL characters involved/affected ahead of time to avoid hurting anyone’s feelings.

BUT let’s remember that if someone has a plot going and it does not affect you or your plans directly they are not required to spell anything out for you/tell you what they’re planning. Where’s the fun in ruining a good mystery?

I love you all, seriously, I love what we’re building together, but I want us to be more mindful of each other’s feelings out of character. It’ll be more fun that way, trust me, I’ve been around the block more times than I care to repeat!

@Eagle those plans I’m on board with. I have no real plans behind it, but we’ve chatted about it and I know you have a vision.

I say let’s do it. It’ll be nice to drag more of the dystopian worldview in. But let’s keep developing our little town as well. We need to get these babies into tribes and figure out the town dynamics.

I think Flamekeeper summed up the @staff’s stance on role plays quite well here.
I am very much a supporter of laissez faire policy, also regarding plot points, but if it starts to affect site members’ wellbeing, then it’s time to set boundaries.

And for heavens sake people, I have stressed this many times, if there is an issue with something, a problem, then please do communicate with each other. Small problems are easier to work through, I promise.

This comes from the past ten years of experience, but - usually, that other person has nothing against you specifically. With few exceptions, our own perception and insecurities can turn our worst enemies, lead to overthinking and name-calling, so let’s try and stop for a moment and keep in mind that on the other end there is a human too.

Can I also add that while Facebook chats are a great tool, we all come from various backgrounds and that sarcasm or different forms of speech might not be universal. Same goes for on the boards. Sometimes things are not always said right or tone misinterpreted. Before it explodes just ask for clarification.

That’s a good point. In my years of roleplay I have learned some British humor and diction is a lot different than mine and I often have to play it by ear or ask for clarification with some things, privately

Hey everyone!

What are our motives with the meeting and what do we want to discuss in it? Do we make it short or even at all.

Since obviously Corin would be conducting the meeting what would you like to do with that @Ash . I know you’re quite busy. Is there anything else I can do to help there. We can time jump the meeting if that is easier

I wanted to wrangle the kids into a discussion about communal living in the School through winter time.

Everyone is spread out, resources are finite, people have gone missing, and we cannot ration food in our current state.
People come and go and there’s no real security.

Those were the points Corin wants to make.
Wendy is pissed off at the idea of moving into the school but agrees that pretty soon they’ll probably completely lose electrical power with everyone living so spread out with no rules about resources

That way nobody misses the meal. I bet the meeting will be longer than anticipated
