Yea, lets head in. Luna goes in ahead of us and I slow up Sabrina once we get inside.
“We need to catch up some time, Sabrina,” I say and laugh. “Glad to see you’re getting on with Luna. She can be a bit much. If starts to get that way, tell her or let me know and I’ll reel her in a bit. Alright? Food is over there meeting room is back that way, restrooms with changing table are over there,” I point out. “It’s different isn’t it? Actually being out and about?”

I had really grown tired of sleeping in different places every night so the idea of a place to stay did feel really nice. It had also been so long since I had encountered someone that wasn’t my brother or was this kind, so the whole thing had taken my off surprise. But the idea of a sound place other than the woods made the decision for me.
"I’ll be honest it’s been a while since I’ve actually talked to someone so the company does feel nice" I sighed softly. I then looked down seeing Dyson sniffing through my bag, I tilted my head and grabbed the bag. “I don’t really have anything worth much in there and not much good to eat either” I said out loud not sure what in there would be value and interesting to a dog.

It felt nice to have Jessi to talk to. Apart from asking people if they knew anything about Claire’s disappearance before Dyson dragged me out I hadn’t spoken to anyone like I had with Jessi since Claire. I just hope if I have to leave early because Claire does not show, that Jessi does not find a better offer regarding somewhere to stay. I would just have to make sure I came back to collect her because otherwise she will only end up doing lots of walking again trying to find me. I have everything crossed that Claire will show, and Claire, Jessi and I with Dyson of course can all head on back to together and become an unit, a squad, I dunno a tribe.
I acknowledge Jessi’s responses, and tap Dyson on the nose. I was so thrilled to have of met Jessi. “Talking to you is amazing. I am sorry about Dyson… again. How about we head inside and you can mingle whilst I manoeuvre through the town folk asking of that missing sister of mine!” I let out a big sigh.

It was now I looked at the entrance and looked back at Bo “What is happening there? if you don’t mind me asking” I asked with curiosity, I had seen people walk by us but I hadn’t at the moment paid so much attention to where any of them were going.
It’s alright, I can say it’s the first time someone has knocked me of off my feet" I shrugged softly. It sure had been a big surprise I had not expected, then again I wasn’t sure what I had excepted when coming into town.

Waving my hand a little I gesture Jessi to stand again. "Everyone is referring to it as the Harvest. The town is going to make decisions for our future, and all dine together. I’m not really a social butterfly these days so just so your aware I don’t really have any friends inside. That’s why I am super keen for you to mingle, you don’t want to end up like me. I wouldn’t be surprised if people have seen Claire, and just brushed me off."
I was starting to prepare myself that by the end of the night Jessi will be telling me she has an alternative place to stay. I wonder if Corin is inside yet. He could well know something, my sister seemed to be planning lots with him leading up to this Harvest.

I stood up and put on my bag again, I nodded as I listened to Bo. My heart was beating a little, meeting one person was normally fine even if I felt that shyness build up, meeting even more made my heart beat faster. But If I was gonna stay in the city it could be good for me to meet more people.
"Well if I’m gonna stay here for some time I should meet more people, that’s also a great idea meeting together and discuss the future" I nodded my head. I took a deep breath moving closer to the entrance, "Shall we?"

Prometheus starts showing me around. I giggled. ”I know where everything is you goose. This was my school”
I look around at people enjoying themselves. I hear the shape of you and I start bouncing Fenella to the music on my hip. I’m surprised we even have music so I have a quick look around and I spot a phone plugged into two massive speakers on either side on the end of the hall. Phones jeez. I haven’t used mine in ages. Sometimes I charge it just in case. The reception isn’t great in Minbadurra but we still have it. When all the adults were all dying I was calling people constantly. I never got a reply from anyone. My gymnastics friends, not Monty, not anyone. Not even at the start. I did get a call from one of my other cousins that live in Perth but I even lost contact with her. I don’t know why because it’s not like people don’t have phones anymore. I hope they’re all okay.

Sabrina tells me this was her old school and I laugh. “I know. I’m just doing what I was asked. I did get my goal though and made you laugh. I like it when you smile. I mean it though, if Luna becomes a bit too much, let me know. Let’s get to the before feast meeting.” I walk with her and Luna I. I see the baby awake and staring at me. I give a wave with my fingers and a smile. “Hi, sweetheart.” Hopefully this meeting will be quick.

I smile at Jessi and take a deep breath. "Let’s do this!"
We slowly started to make our way into the hall, as a queue was starting to form to get inside. 2 young girls in front of us were fussing over Dyson. He seemed to like it, his tail was wagging back and forth. Stepping into the hall again, it was jam-packed. If Claire is finally here, I might struggle to find her in this crowd?
I lean in towards Jessi, “I am going to stand just over there.” I have a quick glance around, but nothing. I notice the gorgeous Sabrina with a face I don’t seem to recognise, so maybe another newbie has arrived in town? "I don’t want you to leave me but fly my pretty fly!"

I looked around and so far the people I did see were people I did not recognize, I wasn’t sure who I knew could be here but it had been so long since I had seen anyone I did know from before the virus. I honestly didn’t know either what would be better, meeting completely new people or bump into people I used to know.
I look at Bo and laughed a little as I shook my head, “Alright, I’ll be around here then” I gestured walking more into the hall looking around. I tried not to let the sight of so many people overwhelm me but it was quite impressive that so many had turned up.

I smile at Prometheus who is waving and talking to Fenella. Out of the corner of my eye I see Bo parting ways with the stranger and decide this is my chance. “I’ll be right back” I make eye contact as I walk towards her. "Hey Bo is everything okay? You looked a bit distressed when I walked past you before"

I watched my new roomie wander off into the hall of strangers. They were to her and I. I had secluded myself to just Claire since I had to be her donor. I just felt she was the only friend I needed. Now I have no clue where my friend and sister is…
I see Sabrina approaching. The one I must have hurt the most. A best friend who would do anything for you that I just left and abandoned. A best friend who I started to fall for. A best friend who I once shared a kiss with. That was our past. We hadn’t spoken for some time. She asks if I am okay, and she can see the stress on my face. She must have seen the posters?
I stare into her eyes. I cannot find any words… Instead, I leap at her and hold her tightly in an embrace whilst still clutching hold of Dyson’s lead. I must have pulled him a little bit, he probably wasn’t expecting that sudden yank, sorry Dyson I thought as I held to Sabrina.

Suddenly Fenella and I are embraced. Like being clung on for dear life. I feel how tense my old friend is. “Oh my gosh what’s up!” I feel a sense of urgency escape me as I worry for her well being.
Bo & Dyson
I had ensured my embrace prevented us from squishing her baby. I didn’t even know her name. I held Sabrina so tight, it felt so right. (I’m a poet, and I didn’t know it).
Hearing her ask ‘what’s up’ I release myself from her hold. I can feel a tear falling down my cheek. In a voice of struggle I utter, “Have you not seen the posters? Claire is missing. But why would you care! You hate her!” I hadn’t really thought my sentence through before it had slipped out. That’s one way to ruin this moment, go Bo.
Dyson was laid out with his chin rested down on his front legs watching the hustle-bustle of the hall oblivious to our conversation.

I take a step back and feel myself trembling. ”I…I… I didn’t…I haven’t been in to town” I didn’t know what else to say I just stood there looking at Bo trying to figure out everything that just happens.

I hear a different voice and the sound of someone distressed. I turn around to see the girl with the dog is hugging Sabrina. Airing on the side of caution and the fact that Sabrina must know this girl, I walk over to check on everything. Especially seeing how Sabrina looks tense and confused.
“Hey, is everything alright?”
Luna
There’s a girl I’ve never seen before who is now hugging Sabrina and almost crushing Fenella. I follow Pratt over to her and hoping Sabrina won’t be upset, I take Fenella from her and hold her up on my shoulder and repeatedly pat her on the back and make calming sounds as she is fussing and about to full on cry. I feel a hint of jealousy but this is NOT the time for that.

"Sorry Sabrina. I’m just done in. It’s been over 48 hours."
Oh darn, me and my mouth has welcomed her little goth gang.
They both ask if everything is okay. "All good here people. I am just a bit all over the place, my sister is missing."
Dyson bolts up and wants to be stroked.

I take the last plates into the school. The others already talking and stuff. I place the plates on the table and was about to walk over as i watch someone hugging Sabrina. I wrinkle my forehead as i see Sabrinas face. Luna steps in and take the baby.
I see Pratt already there but there is a dog as well and not sure if Pratt could atdn both if needed. So i walk over. " Everything alright?"

I feel overwhelmed as people start to crowd me and ask if I’m okay. Yeah everything’s fine” Luna takes Fenella, Devon walks over. I look at Bo feel frazzled and relieved when she finally speaks. ”How long has she been missing for I’m so sorry”

Sabrina also reassures her posse everything is okay. Another one joins us. She is still little miss popular I see. Dyson continues to wag his tail and seeks attention but no one is giving him any fuss.
Standing with her, and now 3 of her friends she asks me how long has ‘Claire’ been missing. Had she not heard me just say? It seems her head is a bit fried too. Bless her, I did miss her but by the looks of her harem she was doing just fine.
"I saw her 2 mornings ago and then yesterday she was not there. Returning again this morning, again not there! She wouldn’t just leave without telling me? I’m going bat shit crazy here, someone has taken her? Our town is in trouble I just know it. But don’t worry about it, just focus on tonight and enjoy yourselves!"
I switch off and crounch down, and give Dyson the attention he is craving.
