DANNI
Walking into the room I tilt my head slightly as I look at Luke’s expression. I’d worked under him for long enough to recognise when something wasn’t quite right, which could also explain the guard I’d seen hurrying in the opposite direction.
Biting my lip I resist the urge to question him about whatever was going on. I knew my place within the hierarchy and although I pushed that with some people I knew better than to push it with Luke.
“Rations are sorted for the next month,” I comment, choosing instead to discuss my morning’s task. “I’ve also finished the monthly report for Project Atlantis. Process has been slightly slower than intended due to the mishap we had the other week.” The mishap I was referring to had been created by one of the prisoners attempting to escape through an unused shaft which had led to a section being flooded, luckily there had been no casualties.
I pause, watching his expression for a moment, “power dropped a couple of times as well, the generator might need a once over.” I knew Luke would be able to allocate that task to the most suitable person, which wasn’t me.
